What I enjoy about my job
There is always such an interesting mix of employment law work, as so much can happen in a workplace, and you never know what you will be advising on from one day to the next.

How I ‘make it happen’ for my clients
I provide my clients with clear advice and ongoing support on a range of often challenging and complex employment issues. I have particular expertise in grievance, disciplinary and redundancy procedures and I can advise on drafting and negotiating settlement, consultancy and service agreements for senior executives. I also guide my clients through tough employment tribunal litigation and help them to defend and/or settle claims.

A bit about my background
I joined Dixcart in 2019 as an employment solicitor, having practised exclusively in this area since qualifying in 2005. I worked for two years at a commercial law firm based in Guildford before taking up a role in the City for five years. I then took a career break to look after my young family and I returned to private practice in 2017.

What I wish I’d known at the start of my career
It is so important to have a great team of colleagues to work with.

You might not know this about me but…
I am a distant relative of Commander Henry (Harry) Pennell who served with Captain Scott on his ill-fated voyage to Antarctica in 1910 aboard the Terra Nova.
