What I enjoy about my job
I enjoy working with, and learning from, a team of professionals where there is genuine mutual support. My team are also my friends which is fantastic, as we spend a lot of time together.
How I ‘make it happen’ for my clients
I deal with personal tax. This includes the personal, partnership, trust and ATED tax returns, and everything contained therein. A lot of time is spent gathering information and liaising with clients, Revenue & Customs and my team. One of the firm’s strengths is that because we offer all of the key services, it is easy, fast and efficient to be able to draw upon the expertise of my colleagues.
A bit about my background
I was employed at Revenue & Customs for two years. Then, after taking a year off to travel, I began working in a private practice before moving to Dixcart.
What I wish I’d known at the start of my career
Hire your boss. Who you work for, and with, really matters. They greatly influence your time at work, and the relationship can significantly impact upon your private life too. You spend a lot of time at work, and as the saying goes, people don’t leave organisations, people leave managers.
You might not know this about me but…
I love loud music. My teenage children regularly ask me to turn it down. I also love live music and the fact that I can’t sing doesn’t mean that I won’t sing. It just means that the music is even louder!
