What I enjoy about my job
I have enjoyed building a great team of lawyers at Dixcart Legal and being part of a much larger multi-disciplinary team of lawyers, accountants, tax and immigration specialists. I love turning the big challenges that we face into great opportunities.
How I ‘make it happen’ for my clients
Listening, communicating and getting the right team in place for each particular job is key. We make it happen by working with the client to understand what it is that they want to achieve commercially and then taking pro-active measures to achieve those objectives.
A bit about my background
I qualified in 1992 when I saw an opportunity to specialise in, and set up, a new employment law practice. I advised on a number of large commercial transactions, which led me to spend more and more time on complex commercial and contract law. I became a Partner in the predecessor firm of Dixcart Legal in 1999. I became Managing Partner in 2007 and when we transferred to Dixcart Legal in 2014, I was appointed Managing Director. I have now stepped down from this role and enjoy working as a consultant to the team.
What I wish I’d known at the start of my career
It is incredibly important to have a strong team: this has been confirmed to me time and time again. To achieve the very best for your clients, you need your colleagues support, and they need yours. I have been very lucky to have this here at Dixcart Legal.
You might not know this about me but…
I love nothing more than a pre-work trail run in the Surrey hills with my best dog buddy Percy, an Irish Terrier.
